Updated: May 17

Picture this: You’ve booked your dream photoshoot and you're counting down the days—but now you're thinking, "Wait, how do I actually prepare?!" Deep breaths friend—I’m here to save the day (and your sanity!). Here’s exactly how to come prepared, relaxed, and ready to shine for your photo session—With The Shoots, of course! 😉📸

You've booked your session! Yay, and congrats! 🍾🥳

If you’re anything like me, the excitement is probably on level 10—but secretly, you're also panicking on the inside wondering, "What do I even bring?", "What on earth do I wear?", and my personal favorite: "Wait, how do I even pose?!"

Pause. Take a deep breath. Inhale calm, exhale anxiety—I’ve got you covered (literally and figuratively 😉).

Step one to stunning photos: a little prep goes a long way. And since you trusted me with your precious moments (thank you, again!), I’m giving you the cheat sheet to show up feeling your absolute best while having all the fun—because photographs turn out amazing when genuine vibes come through!

Here are my top tips on preparing for the ultimate photography session:

  • Clothing Confidence:Wear what feels good! Whether that's casual, totally glam, or "comfy cute," authenticity photographs beautifully.

Pro-tip: prep your outfits at least 1-2 nights before; last-minute stress isn't a vibe!

  • Weather Check:We love Mother Nature—except when she surprises us! Check weather forecasts the day before, so you're not ditching the heels or a fresh press for rain boots last minute. (But if boots are your thing, rock them too!)

  • Communication is Queen:Don't hesitate! If ideas pop in or questions come up, shoot me a text or DM anytime—collaboration helps magic happen. Plus, I'm always just as pumped about your shoot as you are (if not more)!

  • Rest & Hydrate:The DMV and baggy-eyed raccoon look is not trending in photos—yet! Get some rest the night before, hydrate well, and show your body some love. Your skin will thank you, and your photographer (hi, that's me!) will cheer.

  • Plan Your Commute:Consider your travel time and plan to arrive a few minutes early to ease any rushed feelings. Your relaxed smile will thank you!

  • Self-Care Moment:A few deep breaths just before your session really do wonders. Drop your shoulders, shake out the nerves, and be ready to laugh—mostly at my awkward puns. 😂

  • Be YOU, Boo!The best thing you can bring? Your lovely, authentically wonderful self. No one else is you—and that’s your superpower!
